Ayurvedic Kansa Vatki (KV) Foot Massage™
This ancient Ayurvedic treatment is a wonderfully relaxing health-care modality, which balances the body, mind and spirit. Just under an hour in duration, the treatment begins by cleansing the feet and legs, followed by some relaxing foot and leg moves. Then, slowly and methodically the toes, feet, ankles and calves are helped to relax through the application of massage techniques carried out with the aid of ghee (clarified butter) or oils. The treatment continues with special moves performed with the small 3-metal Kansa Vatki bowl. This is followed by a re-balancing sequence of marma massage (Indian acupressure). All this special attention helps to detoxify and balance the body’s energies, leaving you feeling refreshed and relaxed. This treatment is good for everyone and ideal for those who spend long hours on their feet.

Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage includes the massage of the upper back, neck, shoulders, scalp and face. It is based on the traditional form of head massage practised in India for over 1,000 years.
This therapy is sometimes referred to as ‘Champissage’, a Hindi word meaning ‘Head Massage’ from which the word ‘shampoo’ is derived. It is a simple, safe and highly effective therapy. It requires no undressing or use of oil and so it can easily be performed in the workplace without you even having to leave your chair! |

Ear Candling
Our ancestors left an incredible legacy of healing knowledge and many of their practices have been rediscovered for use in the modern world; one such healing tool is the ancient art of Ear Candling.
This gentle yet effective therapy is an ideal way to relieve conditions that can effect us on a daily basis such as headaches, migraines, ear aches, tinnitus, compacted ear wax, glue ear, sinus problems, stress and more. An ear candling treatment requires a pair of specialised 'candles' to be used in the ears, followed by a massage of the face, ears, neck and scalp to enhance the effects of the candling. A full treatment takes approximately 45 minutes.
"My tinnitus didn't bother me for almost two weeks after the treatment! Thank you." (Stephanie) |

The treatment begins with a relaxing foot bath and and takes approximately one hour. The Natural Facial can be combined with Facial Rejuvenation to make a luxurious treatment lasting for 1.5 hours - a real treat!

Reflexology
Reflexology is an ancient art which has been practised for thousands of years by many great civilisations including the Egyptians, the Chinese and the native American Indians. Reflexology works on the principle that there are reflex points on the feet that correspond and connect to all the glands, organs and parts of the body.
By using gentle pressure techniques to stimulate these reflexes, the body is encouraged to heal itself naturally, often counteracting a lifetime of misuse. Following illness, stress, injury or disease, the body is in a state of imbalance and vital energy pathways are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively. Reflexology can help by restoring the energy flow, eliminating toxins, improving blood circulation, relieving tension and inducing a deep state of relaxation. This therapy brings relief to a wide range of acute and chronic conditions and is suitable for people of all ages. I have done post graduate training in Maternity Reflexology and observed the benefits of this treatment in helping woment throughout pregnancy and easing labour.

Holistic Aromatherapy
Holistic Aromatherapy is the use of aromatic essential oils for both physical and psychological well being. The oils are aromatic, volatile substances which have been extracted from various natural sources such as flowers, fruits, leaves, seeds, tree barks and roots.
The oils are made up of components which have healing properties. Once these have entered the system (through the skin with massage or the lungs in inhalation) they can begin their healing work and improve a whole variety of conditions. Various oils have been found to increase vitality, alleviate tension and fight infection. Their benefits include strengthening and supporting the immune system, stimulating the removal of damaging chemicals, boosting circulation and uplifting the emotions. Holistic Aromatherapy is about selecting the essential oils which are best suited to the individual at that time. Each person requires a unique blend of essences, so your first visit will include a consultation. Following this, the essential oils which best suit you at that time are selected and blended, then applied in combination with therapeutic massage.
"Dear Mary, Thank you for the marvellous treatment. I slept like a log and my legs are back to normal; thank you for being so kind. I mustn't leave it so long till next time!" (Anne White) |

Facial Rejuvenation
Read a short article about Facial Rejuvenation treatment and see photos in the April/May 2010 issue of "Darling Magazine" (page 30) available to download from www.darlingmagazine.co.uk>>
Facial Rejuvenation is a natural facelift with massage. It is designed to be a gentle non-invasive approach to looking younger. It works primarily by freeing constrictions both within the facial muscles and in the connective tissue.Tension can build up within our facial muscles from the pressures of everyday life without us realising it. It can be easy for certain thoughts and emotions to become habitual, locking themselves into expressions on our faces. Under such conditions muscles can actually ‘dry up’ and contract, inhibiting freedom of expression. This can encourage the formation of wrinkles as the face loses its muscle tone and elasticity and begins to sag. Through a combination of gentle massage of the face, energy balancing and facial exercises, the facial muscles are given a new lease of life. Although it is difficult to stave off the ageing process, Facial Rejuvenation can do much to extend the appearance of youth and beauty and help us to take care of the assets we possess.
"When I first made an appointment with Mary Dalgleish, I didn't really know what to expect. I was looking for an alternative to botox and the so called "youth therapy" proposed on the market. I wanted something natural, so the idea of a natural face lift through massage was appealing. After one session, I was convinced I had made the right decision. My face looked fresh, rested and the lines were definitely smoother. I decided to continue the treatments and now I see her regulary. I find the one hour session incredibly relaxing and enjoy the effects on my face. I highly recommend her treatments to anyone looking for a natural yet effective face teatment!" (Marie Renson.
