Ayurvedic Kansa Vatki (KV) Foot Massage™
This ancient Ayurvedic treatment is a wonderfully relaxing health-care modality, which helps to balance the body, mind and spirit. Just under an hour in duration, the treatment begins by cleansing the feet and legs, followed by some relaxing foot and leg moves. Then, slowly and methodically the toes, feet, ankles and calves are helped to relax through the application of massage techniques carried out with the aid of ghee (clarified butter) or oils. The treatment continues with special moves performed with the small 3-metal Kansa Vatki bowl. This is followed by a re-balancing sequence of marma massage (Indian acupressure).
All this special attention helps to detoxify and balance the body's energies, leaving you feeling refreshed and relaxed. This treatment can be enjoyed by everyone and ideal for those who spend long hours on their feet.
"I have experienced all of Mary's treatments from head to toe and love every one - I just wish I could be put to bed after, it's so relaxing I don't want to get up and go home!" (Wendy Buddin, Education Officer, Chelsea Football Club)
"I had an Ayurvedic Foot Massage today and as a Reflexologist myself I can only say it was bliss. Thank you Mary" (Norah Brasington - Reflexologist)

Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage includes the massage of the upper back, neck, shoulders, scalp and face. It is based on the traditional form of head massage practised in India for over 1,000 years.
This therapy is sometimes referred to as ‘Champissage’, a Hindi word meaning ‘Head Massage’ from which the word ‘shampoo’ is derived.
It is a simple, safe and highly effective therapy. It requires no undressing or use of oil and so it can easily be performed in the workplace without you even having to leave your chair! |

Ear Candling
Our ancestors left an incredible legacy of healing knowledge and many of their practices have been rediscovered for use in the modern world; one such healing tool is the ancient art of Ear Candling.
This gentle yet effective therapy is an ideal way to help relieve conditions that can effect us on a daily basis such as headaches, migraines, ear aches, noises in the ears, compacted ear wax, sinus congestion, stress and more. An ear candling treatment requires a pair of specialised 'candles' to be used in the ears, followed by a massage of the face, ears, neck and scalp to enhance the effects of the ear candling. A full treatment takes approximately 45 minutes or ea candling alone can be combined with any other treatment.
"My tinnitus didn't bother me for almost two weeks after the treatment! Thank you." (Stephanie) |

Natural Facial
A Natural Facial treatment consists of cleansing the face and neck with a gentle plant based cream, toning with aromatic waters and using a warm compress to open the pores and asid absorption of a nutritious face mask (while your feet are massaged!). Finally your face and neck are massaged with oils suited to your skin type.
The treatment begins with a relaxing foor bath and takes one hour. The Natural Facial can be combined with Facial Rejuvenation to make a luxurious treatment lasting 1.5 hours - a real treat and an ideal gift!

Reflexology
Reflexology is an ancient art which has been practised for thousands of years by many great civilisations including the Egyptians, the Chinese and the native American Indians. Reflexology works on the principle that there are reflex points on the feet that correspond and connect to all the glands, organs and parts of the body.
By using gentle pressure techniques to stimulate these reflexes, the body is encouraged to heal itself naturally, often counteracting a lifetime of misuse. Following illness, stress, injury or disease, the body is in a state of imbalance and vital energy pathways may become blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively. Reflexology may help with restoring the energy flow, eliminating toxins, improving blood circulation, relieving tension and inducing a deep state of relaxation and is suitable for people of all ages.
I have done post graduate training in Maternity Reflexology and observed the benefits of this treatment in helping woment throughout pregnancy and labour.
I have found that shorter treatments of approximately 40 minutes are more appropriate during pregnancy and am happy to negotiate a reduced rate for these treatments as regular treatments are recommended.
"Dear Mary, thanks you for all your help, advice and support during my pregnancy and of course for your magic fingers!" (Lucy) |

Holistic Aromatherapy
Holistic Aromatherapy is the use of aromatic essential oils for both physical and psychological well being. The oils are aromatic, volatile substances which have been extracted from various natural sources such as flowers, fruits, leaves, seeds, tree barks and roots.
The oils are made up of components which have healing properties. Once these have entered the system (through the skin with massage or the lungs in inhalation) they can begin their healing work and may improve a whole variety of conditions. Various oils have been found to increase vitality, alleviate tension and fight infection. Their benefits may include strengthening and supporting the immune system, assisting the removal of damaging chemicals, boosting circulation and uplifting the emotions. Holistic Aromatherapy is about selecting the essential oils which are best suited to the individual at that time, so your first visit will include a consultation. Following this, a blend of essential oils is selected and applied in combination with therapeutic massage. Massage techniques are tailored to the needs of each individual and may be light or deep as required.
DUE TO A ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT WHICH CAUSED INJURY TO MY RIGHT ARM AND UPPER BODY I AM CURRENTLY NOT TAKING ANY NEW CLIENTS FOR BODY MASSAGE TREATMENTS ALTHOUGH I AM ABLE TO CARRY OUT ALL MY OTHER TREATMENTS.
"Dear Mary, Thank you for the marvellous treatment. I slept like a log and my legs are back to normal; thank you for being so kind. I mustn't leave it so long till next time!" (Anne White) |

Facial Rejuvenation
Read a short article about Facial Rejuvenation treatment and see photos in the April/May 2010 issue of "Darling Magazine" (page 30) available to download from www.darlingmagazine.co.uk >>
Facial Rejuvenation is designed to be a gentle non-invasive approach to looking younger. It works primarily by freeing constrictions within the facial muscles and connective tissue.Tension can build up in our facial muscles from the pressures of everyday life without us even realising it. It can be easy for certain thoughts and emotions to become habitual, locking themselves into expressions on our faces. Under such conditions muscles can actually 'dry up' and contract, inhibiting freedom of expression. This can encourage the formation of wrinkles as the face loses its muscle tone and elasticity and begins to sag. Through a combination of gentle massage of the face, energy balancing and facial exercises, the facial muscles are given a new lease of life. Although it is difficult to stave off the ageing process, Facial Rejuvenation can do much to extend the appearance of youth and beauty and help us to take care of the assets we possess. If you would like to know more about facial exercises I can highly recommend Sarah Street who has been practising facial exercises for over 20 years. You can read more and order her facial exercises DVD for home use on on www.targetedfacialexercise.co.uk >>
"When I first made an appointment with Mary Dalgleish, I didn't really know what to expect. I was looking for an alternative to botox and the so called "youth therapy" proposed on the market. I wanted something natural, so the idea of a natural face lift through massage was appealing. After one session, I was convinced I had made the right decision. My face looked fresh, rested and the lines were definitely smoother. I decided to continue the treatments and now I see her regulary. I find the one hour session incredibly relaxing and enjoy the effects on my face. I highly recommend her treatments to anyone looking for a natural yet effective face teatment!"
(Marie Renson. Broadcaster)
"Hi Mary, just to let you know I am loving the results of the face massage on Saturday, its very hard to put my finger on what is different but I know it must be as I hardly put on much make-up yesterday and today, which is not like me at all! So thank you." (Allison Mead) |

Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy massage is great for helping to relieve muscle tension as well as aches and pains, morning sickness, tiredness and mood swings. Lymph drainage may help to clear swelling in the hands and feet and both anxiety and blood pressure may be reduced. You will lie in a comfortable 'recovery position' while safe natural plant oils are applied and firm but relaxing massage techniques are performed to ease tension in legs, feet, back, shoulders and neck. This treatment is ideal for all Mums to be (after the first 3 months of pregnancy) as it takes the added stresses and strains away, leaving the body to take care of the baby's development. Pregnancy massage can also calm down baby too, allowing mum peace and tranquillity.
I have found that shorter treatments of approximately 40 minutes are more appropriate during pregnancy and am happy to negotiate a reduced rate for these treatments. Regular treatments are recommended. |
